Good for introducing a new topic and also for checking knowledge from the previous lesson
I agree. Starting off the lesson by recapping previous learning can be very beneficial. One game I play with my learners is based on recalling previous learning. The class will try to recall as far back as they can and will collaborate to recall the key elements of their previous learning. Students often find this to be quite fun as they compete to see who can remember the most. In addition, it helps the teacher understand which aspects need to be re-introduced.
I too tend to use end of class quizzes and then repeat them at teh befinning of a lesson to refresh the memories of learners.
