Dual coding is a learning theory that suggests that people learn best when they are presented with information in two different formats, such as verbal and visual. This is because the brain processes information in two different ways: through the auditory cortex (for verbal information) and the visual cortex (for visual information). When we are presented with information in two different formats, both of these pathways are activated, which helps us to learn and remember the information more effectively.

There are many ways to embed dual coding into your teaching of programming. Here are a few ideas that I will use in my teaching.

I will use diagrams and illustrations to explain concepts.

I will create interactive learning activities.

I will Use storytelling to teach programming concepts.
