Interleaving seems particularly helpful in my subject area as a lot of the units, topics and terms support one another. So the more learners are able to cross-reference and apply previous learnt information, the deeper their understanding of Childcare/early years practice will be.

Active Learning is something I am keen to use throughout my teaching. To work WITH learners to construct knowledge and information is something that is very valuable to their retention of course content. It also makes the classroom an open, discussion based place where learners are more engaged and play 'active' roles in their own learning, leading to higher motivation levels and a deeper understanding of what they are learning; which in turn leads to higher attainment. There is such a variety of Active Learning techniques to utilize that the course will become both more enjoyable and delivered more creatively.
