  1. Kahoot - for instant feedback, I can later use the data to consider which topics need to be covered in further detail.
  2. One minute essay - this can work in a similar way to a Brain Dump but will involve learners having to write in full sentences and challenge them to use formal vocabulary (key skills for English).
  3. Index cards - allow me to collect data on a range of topics very quickly, so I can adjust lessons to reflect learner needs.
  4. Write it down - learners write explanations for the topics they understood well, so these explanations can be used to help learners who struggled with it. This is good as it encourages peer collaboration as well as putting learners in the 'teacher' mode.
  5. Check for transfer - learners can apply skills across multiple pieces of media (get them to analyse a poem, short story, article, advert, song). Shows that skills are transferable and keeps the learning fresh and varied.
