Compound measures are
measures that require more than one unit. You will more than likely have come
across these in science, although compound measures such as speed are used
regularly in everyday life too.
Speed
(S), Distance (D), Time (T)
Density
(D), Mass (M), Volume (V)
Pressure
(P), Force (F), Area (A)
You can use the triangles to
help you rearrange the formulae:
Cover over the measure that you are trying to find.
If the measure is at the top of the triangle, multiply the
two bottom units.
If the measure is on the bottom of the triangle, divide
the top unit by the other remaining unit.
